Results 2014: Applicants’ idea development

Through Reach for Change's selection process, we aim to encourage and enable aspiring social entrepreneurs to develop ideas that can positively impact children's lives. The illustration below show the share of applicants that - even though not selected for the Incubator - have continued developing their idea or are planning to do so in the near future.

The results are from an annual survey performed with applicants to the Incubator program. In 2014, 462 applicants responded to the survey. In the same survey, 77 percent of the repondents said that the application process helped them develop their idea further.

One of the applicants that did not make it all the way in 2013 was Innocent Sullie. In spite of not being selected as a Change Leader, he was so motivated by the process that he went ahead with his project. Innocent bought himself a hand-pull cart and started My Little Travelling Library for Kids; a mobile book station which he pulls from school to school to offer children the opportunity to read and study independently. In 2014, Innocent reapplied and was selected to be a Change Leader. We welcome Innocent and are immensely happy to have him on board.
